Astroneer

Astroneer is a game where you are a little spaceman on a huge planet. Your friends can also come along. Astroneer has finally out of beta and cost 30 dollars on steam. Astroneer is all about planets and space. There are many planets to land and stay. Bring your friends along and play together. Playing together is always fun.

 

Basic Concepts

Some things you need to know right away is how to expand and not die from running out of oxygen. To get more oxygen, you will have tethers from compound. Build some basic energy generators and I would recommend to build a printer, researcher, and etc. If you run out of oxygen, you will have 10 seconds before you will die. The good news is that you can find your dead body and get your stuff back. The bad news is that you will have to travel all the way from your base to where you died. Researching is another big thing you need to know. With research, you can learn how to build a lot more stuff like rockets and rovers. You will need some kind of fuel or launcher for the rocket. To get a lot of research fast, make a researcher and put a research item in it to get more research over time. You will need power to activate the researcher. Find research items from under plants or randomly in caves.

Materials/Ores

In Astroneer, materials are very important. You can find materials on the surface and some materials underground in caves. Certain materials can be found certain planets like how titanium can be found on some of the planets. The rarity of the ores depends on the planets itself. When going to planets with compound being uncommon, I would recommend to bring a lot of compound since compound is the basic resources you will need for tethers, machines, and etc. When moving to planets, be prepared because you will probably be stuck on there for a long time.

Planets/Terrain

There are multiple planets you can travel to. Be careful of what planet your landing on because there could be pretty bad environmental issues like blizzards and etc. Pick a planet with the resources you need and don’t forget to bring compound because compound could be uncommon or rare on certain planets. Each planet has its own difficulties. On the planets there could be mountains, giant antennas, and even sites with damaged goods. On the sites, you could find scrap parts which gives you compound and also possibly resources. You could even find a destroyed base with some pretty good loot. Caves underground, has different layers of colors. In caves, that is where you find a lot of the ores and materials.

Vehicles

In astroneer. there are vehicles you can make. There are rovers and rocket ships you can make. There is also a crane which is pretty cool. There are different sizes for rovers and ships. The size depends on what you are gonna put on the rover or ships. So far, there are small, medium, and large. The rover provides oxygen just like your base which is pretty good. You want a bigger rocket if you have multiple friends on. Cranes can actually mine things with a drill head on it. To ride the rover, you will need rover seats and don’t forget to put storage on the rovers if you have space.
